Brian began his television career in 1981 as a master control operator at a television station in Rapid City, South Dakota. During that time, he earned an electronics technician degree. In 1986, Brian market jumped to Las Vegas and then to Phoenix, where he worked as a photojournalist and was honored with an Emmy Award for excellence in news coverage. He began working with engineers on satellite trucks in the early 1990s, serving as both a satellite truck operator and cameraman for clients such as ESPN.
In 1994, he brought his expertise to PSSI, where he worked as an uplink engineer and broadcast engineer before becoming co-owner and senior vice president of the company. In addition to his corporate responsibilities in this role, Brian also manages all engineering staff and services, new truck designs, various data services, new technologies, production engineering, and more. He is also a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE).

- At age 16, Brian earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
